US fired up on Chinese
THE Pentagon has criticised what China’s “continued militarisation” of islands in the South China Sea, where the Chinese air force landed longrange bombers for the first time, putting the Southeast Asia region within their range.
The US, which doesn’t have any territorial claims but insists on freedom of navigation, criticised the move.
“The United States remains committed to a free and open Indo-Pacific,” a Pentagon spokesman, Marine Lt. Col. Christopher Logan, said.
