Disunion’s here to stay

THE woes of rugby union are not going away any time soon.

As outlined in Saturday’s Bulletin, all is not well in the code on the Gold Coast.

It was not hard to find five experts in the local game to pinpoint the issues.

What is harder, though, is finding a way to tackle them.

The ARU have financial issues, that’s no secret.

What it means, however, is that cap in hand comes filtering down to the lower tiers, a sore point for many.

Almost 40 per cent of voters on our poll (which asked what the single biggest issue with the game on the Coast) responded with fees.

That says it all.
