LARISSA FUELS WAY TO GREENER FUTURE
LARISSA Rose of Palm Beach is changing the nation’s environmental landscape.
Eight years ago, she studied a Masters in Environmental Management and Sustainable Development degree at Bond University and has dedicated her career to encouraging people to become green.
The mother-of-three has taken her cause to Canberra.
“I wrote a research paper about biofuels in my Masters and got frustrated there was no policy in Australia, so I took it to Canberra and told Bob Katter, ‘enough is enough’,” she said.
“Before I knew it, I was working alongside Queensland members of Parliament to advocate and push for biofuel mandate in Queensland to become law.
“We did it and legislation passed for a Queensland Biofuels Mandate, making E10 and biodiesel a part of the fuel mix – offering consumers renewable fuel choices.”
