Opportunity to skill up

A MINI infrastructure boom is a golden opportunity to train the next generation of Queensland civil construction workers, according to a peak industry body.

The 2018 Queensland Major Projects Report, to be released today, highlights a 58 per cent increase in the value of projects this financial year.

Brett Schimming, chief executive of Construction Skills Queensland, said: “Now is the time for workers and the industry to invest in skills and training to ensure longevity of the industry.”
