FORMER MODEL SHOWS HE’S NOT A ONE-TRICK PONY

- SUZANNE SIMONOT

COULD polo star Jordan Lamaison be the next dashing sportsman looking for love on reality TV series The Bachelor? Definitely maybe. “I’ve got a friend in PR and she’s trying to push me to go on it,” the Urban Polo Series star says. “I did some photo shoots with Matty J. I wouldn’t rule it out.”

A poster boy for a sport, Lamaison will saddle up for the McLaren Gold Coast Polo by the Sea event at Doug Jennings Park, at The Spit, on June 2. Part of the Urban Polo circuit — the largest national polo series in the world — Polo By the Sea includes corporate and VIP options and gives crowds a chance to meet players.

A former part-time model and manager of popular Sydney venue The Argyle, Lamaison, 23, has been riding horses since he was eight.

“My father being from Uruguay always loved (polo) so when he started playing he made me give it a try.”

Lamaison has spent the past three years competing at events around Australia as part of the Urban Polo Series.

When it comes to horsepower, he says the Gold Coast “wins hands down. It’s truly unique. The view is breathtaking — with the boats in the seaway, surrounded by wonderful people and fashion.”
