Glassed by schooner

A MAN has been glassed during a violent assault in Kingscliff.

Around 7pm on Wednesday, a 22-year-old man was in a gaming room with friends at a Marine Parade, Kingscliff hotel when he was approached by a woman he did not know.

She began to confront him as he tried to move away.

But the woman continued to follow him and an argument between the pair began.

A man intervening in the fight then glassed the man with a schooner.

He was taken to Tweed Heads District Hospital in a stable condition with facial injuries.

Tweed/Byron police have urged anyone who may have witnessed the incident to contact them.
