Stiff fines for train surfing

A SPATE of dangerous trainsurfing offences in Perth has prompted the West Australian Government to propose dramatically increasing fines for trespassing on Public Transport Authority property.

Police are yet to find and charge a man who last month jumped from a train off the Fremantle Railway Bridge, narrowly missing a concrete pylon, which was captured on video and posted on social media.

The WA Government plans to increase the maximum fine for serious trespassing incidents from $200 to $5000.
