United on course for finals shot

- – BRENT O’NEILL

GOLD Coast United’s climb towards the NPL’s top four continues after securing a fourth-straight win against Brisbane Roar Youth at Logan last night.

Having soared back into finals contention on the back of victories over SWQ Thunder, Sunshine Coast and Cairns, United extended their winning streak in Round 15 with a 1-0 triumph.

It was a 67th-minute strike from Curtis Stollery that proved the difference, bagging his first goal of the season with a simple tap in.

The win was the seventh of the season for United, who remain eight points adrift of fourth-placed Lions with 11 rounds remaining.

Their next game is against struggling Redlands United at Robina’s Station Reserve at 6pm on Saturday.
