If ever there was a case to reintroduce the death penalty, Lionel Patea and his scumbag mates are it. Having to keep this trash in prison for years will cost millions, money that could be spent on well-deserving returned servicemen and pensioners. Rot in hell.

Why build a new stadium? We’ve already got one, CBUS, it just needs administering better.

Why can’t our lawmakers and enforcers get together to run scum out of town? Zero tolerance for criminals and hefty jail time, just how Guiliani cleaned up New York in the 90s. G

Dear Queenie! Long time, no word! Zan

Sick, sick, sick of backward Gold Coasters who say no, no, no to beneficial tourist city developments including the CST and Spit casino ventures to make life happier for the locals who could also do with the extra jobs. Too many comfortable naysayers who don’t want others to have the opportunities.

Friend’s daughter (10), came home from school confused, as she didn’t know which gender she was. LGBTQI - what is wrong with being just male or female. World’s gone crazy. Shezz

There’s an easy way to pay for the M1 widening. Have the police radar installed on the Smith Street Speedway. The amount of vehicles that exceed the speed limit is frightening considering the amount of advertising relating to speeding. Divert the revenue to the M1 extensions it would be completed in record time.

29/5. Yes Helensvale Stations is spiralling out of control, but the problem isn’t either stations. Problem lies with the wayward/undisciplined kids and their deadbeat parents. Round them all up, bring before the courts and hand down realistic sentences that will actually deal with this problem. I enjoy the light rail to Helensvale and on to Brisbane. Don’t let a bunch of wayward louts hijack this service! Barbara, Southport.

I really enjoyed your column 29th May Ann Wason Moore, such funny refreshing honesty, it made my day! KM

Reading in the paper about Sydney firefighters asking for taller cranes to cope with the new high rise boom there, I hope ours are going to do the same. Terry

The grand Big Mac burger is

back to the size it used to be when it arrived in Australia in 1972 in Sydney. It now should be called the little Mac and if it continues to shrink even more in coming years then rename it the little slider. Dominic

Warning to all families out there: the train/tram link is bringing young gangs to the GC on a regular basis. They travel for free, shoplift, start fights, intimidate and harass. We need police to do something about this quick. In Surfers Paradise they commit crime and are brazen about it. I see it daily. Where are the police? - Susan

The Queen has given Meghan the new Duchess of Sussex a coat of arms that the Duchess designed herself, On it the crown appears to be sertrangling the songbird and it has three quills representing communication and the power of words. Given that no family member has spoken to Meghan for years nor did any attended her wedding says everything about her and her power of communication. Percy the Place Punt

Sinbad says cruise ship tourists go back on board for their lunch. What rubbish, there are some who choose to stay on board, but majority go ashore to enjoy the food and see the sights. John Mc

Another Stadium! What the... We don’t fill the ones we have. How about fixing our roads and stop wasting tax and ratepayers money on white elephants .Don

How about Qld seniors getting same deal as those over the border and not having to pay for car registration. If NSW government can do it, why can't ours?

Hard to see a CST boosting economy of the Gold Coast. Won’t help accommodation, nor food and beverage sectors. Money would be better spent adding more attractions. Diving on an artificial reef could be a good drawcard. Linking the coast with the hinterland and developing (environmentally) the attributes of the latter would be worth considering. PRW

The repercussions of a workplace affair: break the hearts of your family; wreck your career; lose respect of colleagues and the public; increase your stress levels to the max. Was it worth it, Barnaby? Katz

What is happening to the construction of the ‘Oceanway’ path Bilinga to Tugun? It was supposed to be organised for a start after the Commonwealth games. Lookout.
