FISHING

BROADWATER: Tailor on the beaches all the way up towards the Jumpinpin Bar, following schools of baitfish. Jewfish, trevally and queenfish also in the same Broadwater area, as well as schools of flathead and bream.

SEAWAY: Jewfish at night, with squid along the Seaway walls, boat ramp and Southport pier. Trevally, tailor and bream also being caught off the rocks.

FRESHWATER: Bass in the Hinze Dam, expected to move deeper as the weather continues to drop. Tilapia in Robina, Clear Island Waters and golf courses in both areas.

OFFSHORE: Snapper on the 18 and 20 fathom reefs, with mackerel also coming in close on reefs near Mermaid and Palm Beach. Jewfish in the same area after sunset, reaching out the 50 fathom reefs near Jumpinpin.
