BOOB TUBES TURN UP TOPS AGAIN
ONCE a common sight at 90s blue light discos and Spice Girls concerts, the boob tube has been resurrected by the fashion world.
The strapless designs, which at the height of their popularity were co-ordinated with low-slung pants and belly rings, have been given a 2018 makeover, with designers and fashion identities pairing the style with high-waisted trousers and sophisticated blazers.
Kenzo, Tommy Hilfiger and Australian brand I. Am. Gia are among the labels rolling out tube tops.
Stylist Kash O’Hara said Australian women didn’t have to wait until summer to embrace the style.
“Bandeau tops are great for layering,” she said. “We saw them on the runway at Australian Fashion Week last month.”
