Pts 35 28 28 26 24 23 22 2 THE away-game angst continued for the Firebirds with another fourth-quarter failure helping Collingwood grab a 67-62 upset win over Queensland in the Super Netball clash in Launceston.

All three of the Firebirds’ losses this season have come on the road and the latest mistake-riddled effort saw them drop from third to fifth on the ladder.

The teams were level at three quarter-time, but Collingwood outscored the fumbling visitors 17-12 in the final term for just their second win from six outings.

The Firebirds (3-3) enter the competition-wide bye this weekend wondering what may have been, with disappointing on-the-road losses to the NSW Swifts, GWS Giants and now Collingwood being in stark contrast to the impressive wins over the Lightning, Vixens and Fever.

Just a week after dismantling the previously unbeaten West Coast, a flat Queensland failed to fire in Romelda Aiken’s 150th national league match.
