Leaders’ test emerges

BURLEIGH Heads’ dominance of the Gold Coast Premier League faces a stern test next weekend against Broadbeach.

Burleigh maintained their unbeaten start to the men’s competition with a 2-1 victory over Surfers Paradise at the weekend, setting the scene for Saturday’s trip to third-placed Broadbeach.

Coach Colin Phelan said it will be a tough game.

“It’s always going to be a battle against Broadbeach,” he said.

Meanwhile, Mudgeeraba continue to struggle after yet another loss.

Sitting at the bottom of the ladder going into the Round 6 fixture at Sid Bigg Park, the team went down 5-0 to Coomera at the weekend. They face Surfers Paradise this weekend.
