Lacy puts on silky show

SPECTATORS at were treated to “Maddie magic” when Robina’s women’s side trounced the hosts in Round 6 of QWFA Division 2 South.

Workhorse Madison Howard ruled the midfield at Keith Surridge Oval, and forward Madeline Lacy dominated the Roos’ scoring zone in the visitors’ 15.14 (104) to 0 hammering of their youthful rivals.

Lacy finished with four majors, as did versatile ruck/forward Sarah Ellis to displace teammate Roslyn Manns as the division’s top goal scorer for the season with 16.

Hayley Wray showed class in the forward pocket, chipping in with three goals.

Robina’s men’s seniors could not contain the Bombers in the second half, with Ben Bissett bagging seven goals to help sink the Roos 14.14 (98) to 6.3 (39). Despite the best efforts of Aaron Kidney and George Roussos, Robina’s reserves were overpowere­d, going down 15.18 (108) to 4.8 (32).
