Liberals ahead in polling for two seats in upcoming bielections. Most likely because Bill Shorten is on the nose but good old Malcolm will assume that people now like him. Wrong Mal. GT

Reading Chatroom this morning, have to say I agree with the person who wrote about the orange bikes littering. They are all over the surf club and streets of Main Beach. When will the Council remove them? Also people who are in favour of a CST please know that cruise ships are the biggest polluters. Please not in our Broadwater. Merry

Economic tsunami spotter John predicts trouble for the Gold Coast property market. I’ll bet you don’t own any real estate and like so many others over the years, are waiting for prices to come down. The seven-year cycle is a thing of the past. The coast is being driven by supply and demand. Stop with the doom and gloom. M. Robina

Hey Premier, instead of grandstanding and spending millions on your Olympic Games grandeur – how about using the money to fix the state – and infrastructure – or don’t u read the news! Election’s coming soon and your do-nothing attitude is being noted. Ex labor Elan

“Our Future” needs less high rise development. The infrastructure simply can’t handle it. Darryle Knowles, Main Beach

To Stan from Tallebudgera, I think it’s time to paint that pole sky blue cause it’s gonna be a long couple of decades without that shield on home turf, just saying! Bluey

Congratulations Rita Panahi (GCB 4/6), exactly what the greater population thinks, freedom of speech is dead and buried. It’s time more educated people in the media spoke out about minorities having all the rights in this country. Our elected representatives are an absolute disgrace and sending our beautiful country down the toilet. Keep it up Rita. PH, Ormeau

Well said Bourkey, I agree totally – lets increase eco tourism – one casino is certainly more than enough, as well as ensuring that surf and other sports clubs continue to survive.

Gee, holding the Comm Games has done wonders for the tourism ... nothing has changed by the looks of things, not like they weren't told beforehand! 4221

Research reveals Aussie homes are overvalued. A $500,000 house is worth approximately $380,000 in real

terms. Even top economists doubting a housing bubble admit interest rates must go up and accept there will be financial consequences for Aussie battlers. - Sarah

I was just wondering if the reason for some of the restaurants closing down in Broadbeach is because of uber eats as now people just get it delivered instead of going out to

eat and spending a bit more on drinks and other food while they are there

Crikey, the Commonwealth Bank has agreed to a 700 million fine for its money transfer scandal. I’ll bet Malcolm has it spent already. GT

Barry Jenkinson, you must have a fantastic telescope to notice all those ocean liners sailing past the GC. And Palm Beach want the trams – evidence please. A young “naysayer”

Cruise ship terminal must be built on the GC … When Labor gets in next Federal Election at least we’ll have somewhere safe to unload the people smugglers’ human cargo. Don

Well done Barry Jenkinson! your letter. Breaks my heart too allowing all those cruise ships to bypass the wonderful Gold Coast. DD

The best part of watching the Suns play Geelong was when the Suns supporters booed Gary Ablett every time he touched the ball. They had to boo a lot! Ha ha

Re Mobikes concern, I think they are great. They are not abandoned. On my walk yesterday I thought how great that I can pick up a bike and go anywhere and I saw a lot of people on them. What a great GC community idea. I hope they are here to stay. Mrs Grumbleguts

Almost every day we hear about polling. I can honestly say that I have never been asked a solitary question relating to politics or anything else. Nor do I know anyone who has ever been polled. So who are these people who are used to form public opinion? Do they really exist? GT

Are you serious!! The M2 or whatever gets built will be gridlocked again in 5 years. While the councils and developers keep building, more people use the roads. It’s not rocket science. We are full and can’t sustain what we already have.
