First deals handed out

DRAGONS have made history with the first women’s signings for the NRL season.

St George Illawarra yesterday announced local players Kezie Apps, Sam Bremner and Talesha Quinn as the first three players on their roster, with more expected in the coming weeks.

There are 60 players in an elite playing group who can be signed during the marquee window, which runs for a couple of weeks before the free agent window opens.

Apps, who has been an ambassador for the Dragons for more than a year, said she hoped they are just the start of big names joining the club.

“It’s finally happening and it’s a bit surreal at the moment, as it has been in the last few months when it’s all been announced,” she said.
