MEET the swimming champion ready to dive in and keep Hot Tomato breakfast stars Flan and Christo afloat while Emily Jade is on maternity leave.

Olympic gold and silver medallist Brooke Hanson will rise and shine to co-host the station’s top-rating breakfast show with Flan and Christo from 5am daily when Emily Jade goes into labour.

Hot Tomato CEO Graham Miles said Brooke– who moved to the Coast from Melbourne with husband Jared Clarke and their three children in 2016 – was a champion both in and out of the pool.

A longtime Hot Tomato listener who loves the breakfast show, Brooke trumped Instagram ‘celebs’ and former TV and radio personalities to secure the fill-in gig – a role she’ll have no problems handing back.

“This is a wonderful woman who wants to come back to the job she loves and she’s so good at it. In media and radio and TV not every mum has that opportunity,” Brooke said.

“I feel like I can support her as she has those special moments with her baby.”

Emily Jade is due to give birth on June 15 after a challenging pregnancy that saw her undergo emergency surgery and spend eight weeks confined to bed.

After co-hosting her show from her bedroom during that time, she will initially work from home again when she returns to work after the baby’s birth.
