Ex-Showgirls doorman’s legal win
EX-HOLLYWOOD Showgirls VIP doorman Jimmy Ozturk has won the second round of his Fair Work fight against former boss Craig Duffy.
The Fair Work Commission has decided Mr Ozturk could be represented by a lawyer.
Mr Ozturk is fighting his former boss of 11 years, Mr Duffy, over an alleged $500 tip.
The spat became public through Fair Work Commission documents, which revealed Mr Duffy thought the money was stolen, something Mr Ozturk denies.
In the hearing it was claimed Mr Duffy sent a text message to Mr Ozturk which read, “I’ve investigated a complaint re the $500 you took off a client five weeks ago. Effective immediately, I’m suspending you. The evidence is overwhelming, it’s not good … $500 off the customer’s not on. It’s been a long time, but retiring gracefully is the best option.”
Mr Duffy claims he never sacked Mr Ozturk but he instead quit or voluntarily resigned.
