Neighbours save house

-

PIMPAMA residents showed some neighbourly spirit yesterday morning when they pulled together to help put out a house fire.

The owners were away when the fire started in a front room of the Shawnee Cres home just after 11.30am.

Richard Jackson, Vernon Kubinski and Sergio Sessa teamed up to run garden hoses to their neighbours’ property.

“We ran around with the hose, all the guys in the street got over there and started putting it out, “Mr Jackson said. “We jumped the fence, made sure no one was in the house, put the hoses on the house until the fire brigade arrived.”

Queensland Fire and Emergency Service Helensvale station officer Shane Cody said the neighbours did a good job to contain the fire.
