Aussie comic to keep Logies rolling
EVERYONE’S favourite larrikin Dave ‘Hughesy’ Hughes will return to open The Logies this year at The Star Gold Coast on July 1.
The star of Ten’s Hughesy, We Have a Problem said he was looking forward to gracing our screens for the fourth time.
“I’m excited to be opening the Logies for the fourth year in a row,” he said.
“You’d think it would get less nerve-racking, but it doesn’t. Walking the line between comedy and slander on TV’s ‘night of nights’ isn’t easy. Luckily, I know most big names in the industry are happy to be made a laughing stock of on the big night. Hopefully, I can get through it this year without getting myself banned from any more networks.”
Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk announced in September that The Logies are to be hosted on the Gold Coast for the next four years.
The ceremony will be held at The Star Gold Coast, which showed off its credentials as a live broadcast venue when it hosted Foxtel’s CMC Awards in March.
Nominees include Erik Thomson (800 Words, Seven) in the Most Popular Actor category and Asher Keddie (Offspring, Ten) in the Most Popular Actress Category.
