TRIBUTES FLOW FOR FIRST BOND GIRL
THE original Bond girl, Eunice Gayson, has died at the age of 90.
In her role as Sylvia Trench in 1962’s Dr No, Gayson helped create one of cinema’s most enduring catchphrases.
Meeting 007 over cards at a casino, she suggests raising the stakes. Bond, played by Sean Connery, replies: “I admire your courage, Miss, er…?’’ “Trench, Sylvia Trench. I admire your luck, Mr…’’. “Bond, James Bond.’’
Bond producers Michael G Wilson and Barbara Broccoli paid tribute to Gayson, who also appeared in From Russia With Love, on the official 007 Twitter page. Another post said: “An amazing lady who left a lasting impression on everyone she met.’’
