Marketer launches gift game changer

- RYAN KEEN ryan.keen@news.com.au JACKIE BABBAGE

A YOUNG Gold Coast tourism and marketing expert has launched an online gift voucher platform with 6000 activities and products in 80 countries.

Griffith University graphic design, marketing and business graduate Jackie Babbage believes noexpiry.com will be a “game-changer”.

The 23-year-old, who is No Expiry’s CEO as well as being a co-founder, said the platform offers an endless amount of international experiences and activities which users can “gift” to friends or family. The point of difference with their site vouchers is they never expire.

The recipients of No Expiry gift vouchers have the freedom to choose when, where and what they use the voucher for.

Their credit can also be exchanged for a different experience or transferred to another person entirely at any time – without the gifter knowing.

Ms Babbage said the NoExpiry platform would revolutionise how people thought about online experience gifting.

“Until now, the gifting process has been hit and miss with many vouchers going to waste because the gift receiver is not interested in doing the experience, they lose the voucher, or they simply can’t find the time.” Ms Babbage said.

“We’re changing that by putting the whole gifting process into the hands of our customers.

“People can search the largest range of gift experiences around the globe, buy a voucher and send it electronically to the recipient.

“The recipient then has the choice to use the voucher, exchange it for a new experience or re-gift it at any time, anywhere throughout the world with participating NoExpiry suppliers.

“But don’t fret, our regifting procedure keeps that little secret, so the gift recipient never knows the voucher was intended for someone else,” she said.

Ms Babbage, who has been working in the tourism and adventure tourism industries since she was at university, launched the site last month with activities in 50 countries.

In three weeks it has already grown its offering to 80 countries.

Ms Babbage credits fellow co-founder and Queensland tourism industry entrepreneur John Sharpe with dreaming up the idea.

Ms Babbage added: “Having been in the tourism industry it was easier for us to identify problems in the industry and the opportunities to make it fair for customers and make it flexible.”
