Origin four to lift Saints

-

PAUL McGregor has told St George Illawarra’s four State of Origin stars to show their character as the Dragons go about ensuring history doesn’t repeat against Canterbury.

McGregor, who will coach his 100th game today, confirmed that Ben Hunt, Tyson Frizell, Jack de Belin and Paul Vaughan returned fit and would play against the Bulldogs at ANZ Stadium.

“We had a sit down and chat about coming back and displaying why you got chosen in Origin is important to the team and yourself and your family and your friends,” McGregor said.

“It’s important they come back and display why they are an Origin player now.”

The second-placed Saints face a danger game against the Bulldogs, who will be without Kieran Foran. They have lost 11 of their past 12 to Canterbury, including the past three (NSW) Queen’s Birthday clashes.
