Channels to be dredged
MORE than $8 million will be spent on revamping infrastructure on Gold Coast rivers and creeks in 2018-19.
The Gold Coast Waterways Authority will spend $4.9 million dredging navigation channels to improve access in and around the Broadwater, while $2.7 million will go to ongoing works on facilities at Doug Jennings Park.
These works include upgrading the sand bypass jetty deck and a new “renewable energy solution’’ for the sand bypass system.
A further $380,000 will be spent on upgrades to existing boat ramps and pontoons.
