TOURISM demographers are telling us a sunken ‘dive’ ship on the GC would attract 5,000 participants/tourists a year, but methinks a GC CST would bring 5,000 tourists A DAY within 5 to 10 years – especially once the 300 million Chinese middle class start cruising out way. Ex-China resident

What is it about boxing, talking rematches? Look Jeff was outclassed, what’s the point, and who in their right mind wants to see washed up big mouth Mundine again? Hang on, I suppose it would be nice to see Jeff demoralise him.

Well I’ve seen everything this morning at Benowa road school crossing a lady actually reading a story book to her child trying to turn page and steer the big 4 wheel drive. No wonder they nearly run over crossing supervisors.

Attending the Titans game on Friday night (which they were robbed of the win) I enjoyed it but come on Cbus, sort the parking. And make a civilised line for Ubers to come and go. It’s a sign of the times so make it easy please. It should all flow like clockwork. If it’s too hard people will just stay home and watch it on TV.

Brilliant, brilliant article by Rita Panahi in The Bully on Monday hitting out at our dysfunctional, PC ridden universities. Failing our youth so badly by discouraging diversity of views. Hopelessly biased academics should be tarred and feathered and run off campus. Where do these damaging idiots come from?

Amazing a Blues supporter calls Queenslanders losers. It will take decades for NSW to catch up to the Maroons’ magnificent record. Seems Blues boys can't count or face grim reality. How sad! Back in the day, Brisbane needed supplies for its growing city. The only way was in by sea and up the river, so they had to build a port. The Gold Coast has never needed a port and never will, all we need arrives by road. A CST would be an extravagant, complete waste of public money. End of story.

Our girls won their 2nd World Rugby Sevens title in 3 years … beating Fiji again and a hapless New Zealand. Go girls

Can you tell me why trams have to clang their bells when they pass each other – can’t they just have a cuddle when they get back to the depot? Bres

No name as usual you ask Jackie Trad and our Premier to get the message over the Olympics, the State is broke.

OK, why didn’t you ask Campbell Newman, who put us in this state in the first place? Do you think LNP is the answer? Yes bring on the election but don’t hold your breath mate, you have no chance with what you’ve got at the moment. James P McGuire

Good job plastic bags banned. Why not bring back the good old paper sack. Can still be used for household scraps. I once read that pine trees are fast growing and replaceable. Surely that can be considered as an alternative and even a money earning scheme for some large property owners or government job schemes. Ann, Nerang

Can someone advise why diesel is now dearer then ULP!

Channel 10 turn the music down on MasterChef. We are going deaf.

Of all the proposals made on your Golden Age segments front page (GCB 11/6) the cable car should be top of the list as far as new attractions are concerned as well as a new theme park at Nerang. Run it in 3 directions from Parkwood or Helensvale light rail station up to the gallery walk at Eagle Heights then stage 2 from Tugun near the airport if light rail goes near old legends park up to Springbrook. Stage 3 would connect the 2 hinterland destinations later on with more accommodation sites built up there for tourists. That’s the future of tourism on the GC – not another casino or another CST which is only an hour’s drive up the M1 once a new one gets built. Dominic

Bill Shorten on Q&A hit the nail on the head – if what’s debated and spoken about on Q&A comes up with more fair dinkum answers than parliament, that is a real concern. If you're having problems sleeping switch on to Ch 2 parliament.

I agree Sarah the system is wrong. My advice is to sell off and get out of debt immediately before the economic storm hits. Recession is on its way and house values will end up losing up to 40% of their value. House prices are already falling now before interest rates have risen. Sound financial strategy now will get you to a good place. - Linda

Ideally the foreshore should not be owned by anyone except the public. ‘The Oceanway’ provided by Premier Bligh and Mayor Clarke was a brilliant use of foreshore land. A paved path along the foreshore of the Gold Coast. Not so the Mayor Tate administration. They threw the financed project into the bin. Now that was forward thinking. Lookout.

No Billy! We don't need all this self interest in commercialising our beaches like other European style rubbish. Just leave the beaches alone. Just the like the Hollywood sign at Burleigh.
