Cafe buyer a neighbour

THE buyer paying $3.4 million for Currumbin’s landmark beachfront Elephant Rock Café is believed to be the owner of an adjoining home.

Hotelier John Fuglsang, head of the family that runs Hobart’s Salamanca Inn at Battery Point, spent $2.44 million in 2011 on a tri-level, fourbedroom Pacific Pde house that’s on a 419sq m site.

It’s previously been reported the Elephant Rock Café’s buyer intends to keep operating the 28-year-old business.
