Wallabies caught on hop

-

MUDGEERABA coach David Thompson believes the Wallabies were the better side in yesterday’s 3-2 NPL Women’s loss at home to Capalaba.

Hoping to end a five-game losing streak, the Wallabies looked on track for a point before a last-gasp Bulldogs goal stole all three points.

“We played the better football and were on top of the game but conceded in the last minute against the run of play,” Thompson said.

Sarah Skinner and Jemima Lockley were the goalscorers for Mudgeeraba, who travel to Logan at 7.15pm on Friday.

At Albany Creek last night, Gold Coast United ended a three-game winless run with a surprise 2-0 win over high-flying Moreton Bay United.

First-half goals from Mackenzie Akins and Meg McElligott were enough for United, who host SWQ on Sunday.
