Crackdown on crims
TAKING unexplained wealth from criminals across Australia is part of the Federal Government’s plan to target illegal operations costing the nation upwards of $36 billion a year.
Home Affairs Minister Peter Dutton says serious and organised crime syndicates are operating in an increasingly fluid way across state and territory borders.
The Government has introduced legislation allowing law enforcement agencies to confiscate assets of criminals where they can’t show the wealth has been lawfully obtained.
