Finigan out of Heelers
THE Queensland Country Heelers have been dealt a blow with Helensvale flanker Sean Finigan having to withdraw from their upcoming rugby tour due to work commitments.
Finigan was one of four Gold Coasters selected for the Heelers following the Queensland Country championships at the start of the month in Townsville, along with younger brother Jack Finigan (Helensvale), Jesse Mcgilvary (Surfers Paradise) and Mitch Planten (Coolangatta Tweed). The elder Finigan brother, Steven, had been in line to captain South Queensland in Townsville but was also ruled out due to work.
The Heelers will head to Christchurch, New Zealand, to face Ellesmere on Monday and then North Canterbury on Wednesday before returning home to host NSW Country in the Battle of the Border Cup at Goondiwindi on Saturday, June 30.
