AUSTRALIAN TV stars — and The Star — are giving the Gold Coast-hosted Logies rave reviews with plans afoot to keep it in Queensland longterm.
Australian TV’s glamour annual awards night is locked in on the Gold Coast for at least the next three instalments in a deal sealed late last year by the Queensland Government.
TV star Tom Gleisner, host of multiple Logie-winning show Have You Been Paying Attention?, couldn’t be happier: “This feels like Beverley hills only better, more exotic, more glamorous.”
Star Entertainment Group CEO Matt Bekier confirmed last night the TV Week Logies Awards would remain at The Star’s Broadbeach island site next year, in 2020 and 2021.
After that, The Star Entertainment Group will put its weight behind trying to keep the Logies in Queensland longterm.
“The Logies will stay on the Gold Coast for the term of the four-year agreement,” Mr Bekier said in a statement.“Queen’s Wharf Brisbane will open in 2022, which is after the final year of the existing Logies deal.”
