MIGABUB MAKES A SPLASH
A BABY white whale has been spotted with mum on their way north.
And it had whale watchers in a frenzy. Could this be famous white whale Migaloo’s love child? Sadly, it seems not.
The white humpback was seen by Ballina paraglider Kynan Wall two days ago off Lennox Head. The whale is expected off the Coast in coming days.
But hopes that Migaloo has an offspring like himself were dashed by researcher Oskar Peterson, who said it was not uncommon for a whale to be born all white. “Usually the pigmentation kicks in and they blend into the herd.”
