FISHING

Offshore: Out in the 65-85m range there’s plenty of snapper, pearl perch, salmon fish and rosy job fish. In close on the 24 you’ll find cobia, snapper, and trag jewfish. At the 18 fathoms there is good silver jews and snapper. Live bait is preferred. Pilchards are good for snapper, and squid is equally as good.

Beaches: There’s plenty of tailor, the jetties are firing with adjacent beaches providing good fishing too.

Seaway: Trevally, tailor, tarpin and mulloway around. Broadwater: Plenty of garfish around Crab Island and Parrot Rock, also plenty of flatties across the Broadwater itself.
