KEEN eyed observers of the Logies on Sunday night may have noticed Deputy Mayor Donna Gates getting seconds of her walk down the red carpet. For once this wasn’t a case of a politician trying to maximise her time in front of the cameras. “The truth is that my shoe broke so I flip flopped down the red carpet before heading off for help,” explained Donna. “Bronwyn, one of The Star’s super staff, sat me down, gave me a champagne and then found some Superglue for a quick fix. Because I couldn’t get in any other way I then had to do the walk all over again. It was a bit embarrassing hearing people say, “Haven’t you already done this?”
