March 8: Billabong shareholders vote in favour of Boardriders takeover

April 25: Billabong CEO Neil Fiske departs the company following the takeover. He later joins Gap Inc

April 26: Billabong delisted from the ASX

July 4: Boardriders announces the Billabong distribution centre at Helensvale will close with the loss of 55 jobs. At the same time the national headquarters will move to Burleigh Heads.
