FORMER BIKIE PAD FOR SALE

Infamous Rebel’s unit goes to auction

- ALEISHA DAWSON aleisha.dawson@news.com.au

THE Surfers Paradise beachfront apartment of an infamous bikie who died in suspicious circumstances following a “hot shot” of drugs is set to go under the hammer.

Ricky Ciano, a former president of the Sydney chapter of the Rebels bikie gang, paid $915,000 for his luxury Glitter Strip home in 2016.

Ciano died aged 35 between February 13 and February 14 last year.

His partially clothed body was found in the back seat of his BMW M3 at Duckmaloi, in western NSW, close to a makeshift ice lab hidden in a farmhouse.

The NSW police homicide squad is investigating his death and while murder by a “hot shot” of drugs has not been ruled out, they are also examining if he committed suicide or died from an overdose.

Justice Peter Applegarth on May 16 ordered Brisbane solicitor Prudence Poole be appointed administrator of Mr Ciano’s estate.

Justice Applegarth ordered Ms Poole be registered as the owner of Ricky Ciano’s beachfront apartment, and for his widow Rachel Ciano to move out when it is sold.

The three-bedroom residence, in the Mustique building on Main Beach Pde, is being taken to auction through Ray White Prestige Gold Coast’s Robert Graham.

While Mr Graham declined to comment, the listing refers to the residence as an “affordable whole floor beachfront apartment”.

“Mustique is an exclusive beachfront address of just ten whole-floor apartments offering the best of both worlds — stroll into Surfers Paradise or head north to fashionable Main Beach for elegant shopping and dining,” the listing states. “With a parkland reserve and the beach directly opposite, this entire fourth floor residence is ideally positioned, yet very private.

“The 224sq m three-bedroom plus study apartment enjoys views from every room with the master stunningly positioned overlooking the beach side with large ensuite and walk in robe.”

The property is going to auction on August 2.
