Charges for lashing out

AN EWINGSDALE woman has been slapped with three charges after an alcohol-fuelled episode on Friday.

The 33-year-old was refused entry to a venue due to intoxicati­on but stayed in the vicinity, abusing staff from outside the venue. She then gained entry at the rear of the venue but was removed again.

About 10.30pm a patrolling police car was flagged down and officers attempted to place the woman under arrest, however she continued to make threats and physically lash out.

She was taken to Byron Bay Police Station and charged with resisting police, excluded person re-entering a licensed premises and excluded person remaining in the vicinity of a licensed premises.
