Potential for large S groundswel­l ranging from 5 to 6ft+ northern NSW southern exposures, rising to 6 to 8ft+ in the afternoon. Wrapping at 3 to 6ft open beaches with size depending on exposure. Southern QLD: 2 to 4ft beaches, grading to 2ft or so open breaks and smaller inside the points and bays. WIND: Early WSW to SW tending SSW, then SSE 10 to 20 knots.

TOMORROW

Solid S swell slowly eases under moderating southerly winds. Sets to a solid 5 to 7ft+ exposed northern NSW beaches early, settling during the afternoon. Grading to 2 to 4ft exposed QLD beaches and down to a smaller 1 to 2ft inside the points and bays. WIND: Early SW to SSW inshore tending S to SSE around 15 to 20 knots.

WEDNESDAY

Easing SSE groundswel­l up to 3 to 5ft exposed breaks, exposed northern NSW beaches. Grading to 2 to 4ft exposed QLD beaches and down to a smaller 1 to 2ft+ inside the points and bays. WIND: SW to SSW 5 to 15 knots early, tending SSE to SE 10 to 15 knots during the afternoon.
