Coast well placed to keep QAFL title
THE QAFL premiership flag could remain on the Gold Coast for a fourth consecutive year, with the three of the city’s clubs sitting in the top four going into the final third of the season.
Gold Coast clubs have won the past three QAFL titles and three of the past four since the competition was reintroduced in 2014.
Labrador won in 2015 and 2016 before Palm Beach Currumbin took the honours in 2017.
Palm Beach Currumbin are unbeaten and at the top of the ladder following their latest 17.16 (118) to 6.8 (44) win over Labrador while Broadbeach, Mt Gravatt, Surfers Paradise and Morningside make up the rest of the top five currently on track for finals.
Surfers Paradise beat Sandgate 21.10 (136) to 4.4 (28) on Saturday in Brisbane while Broadbeach lost to Morningside 12.10 (82) to 11.9 (75).
