TODD SWINGS INTO DARING ROLE
WEARING a barely there costume in front of packed crowds could be a bit daunting for any actor.
But Todd Jesson has got into the swing of things for his new role – Tarzan.
“It was a daunting thought knowing I would be wearing almost nothing,” Jesson, who’s previous career highlights include being an intruder on The Bachelorette in the 2016 season, said.
Now, with just a loin cloth to cover his modesty, he has swung into the lead role in the National Academy of Performing Arts production of Tarzan the Musical.
Jesson admitted being constantly shirtless for the role had require a bit of gym preparation.
“I had lost a lot of weight in my last show so I was straight in the gym when I landed this role,” he said.
“So it’s been about three months of hard training... not nearly enough time,” Jesson, 28, from Currumbin, laughed.
The season runs at the National Academy of Performing Artstheatre at West Burleigh until July 14, with performances twice a day. Tickets start at $25 and are available at www.napa.com.au
