School hols a ‘blowout’
AUSSIE families are feeling the pain of cost-of-living pressures, especially during the school holiday period with transport costs eating up more than an eighth of the annual household budget.
Nearly three-quarters of every 1000 families surveyed by the NRMA found cost-of-living pain was “particularly prevalent” during school holidays and said budgets were regularly blown during that time.
Rising transport and fuel costs are big contributors to increased cost-of-living pressures, the NRMA said.
