More time for Tweed
TWEED Shire Council has been given a 12-month extension before sweeping changes in planning procedure open the floodgates for big housing developments.
The NSW Government amended its State Environment Policy on April 6 which would see bigger developments in Tweed’s low-density residential zone.
The council has been given an 12-month extension by the State Government before the new planning policy is implemented.
This would mean it would be introduced on July 1, 2019.
The council has time now to assess the changes and if required amend the Local Environmental Plan to suit councillors’s vision.
