- SUZANNE SIMONOT

A GOLD Coast company is helping Prince Harry realise his dream of bringing the Invictus Games to Australia.

MinterEllison Gold Coast have been recruited as the official lawyers for the Sydney debut of the sporting event founded by the Prince to inspire wounded, injured and ill service personnel and veterans.

Created in 2014 to harness the power of sport to help the recovery, support rehabilitation and public understanding and respect for the veterans community, the inaugural Invictus Games Sydney will be held from October 20-27.

Prince Harry and wife Meghan Markle, now known as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, will make their first visit to Australia as a couple when they attend the Sydney Games.

With less than 100 days to go until Prince Harry’s Invictus Games kicks off in Sydney, sports fans are being urged to start snapping up tickets.

Members of the Australian team that will compete at the games gathered in Canberra to mark the 100-day countdown to competition.

“The Invictus Games are truly inspirational,” MinterEllison chief executive Harrington AM said.

“They are about much more than just sport and MinterEllison’s partnership with Invictus Games Sydney is about much more than just legal work.”

MinterEllison Gold Coast will host a special ‘Walk & Talk’ with Australian war hero and gold medal Paralympian, Curtis McGrath OAM on Thursday at Burleigh. Tony
