QPS gripes go unheard

-

THE Queensland Police Service can’t say why 300 complaints against officers and staff are still unresolved and it will take too long to work out why.

The service has told Police Minister Mark Ryan that 88 complaints remain open from 2015-16 and 212 from 2016-17.

But the service says it can’t explain why, unless someone spends 100 hours reviewing the cases. Opposition Leader Deb Frecklington said the fact some cases remained unresolved three years on was not good enough. “This is not only unfair, but it undermines public confidence in the system.”
