- Donald Trump is spot on

TEXT: 0416 905 148

The British Govt is in disarray with the front bench walking out on PM Theresa May over Brexit, and they protest against Trump? That’s like trying to prevent your house from burning down, but stopping in order to complain about the dog next door barking at it! Bruce, Murwillumbah

With the so many technological advances of today such as Skype, webinar platforms etc etc etc there should be less need for our public servants to go on these so called ‘conferences’ which we all know is just another junket at the expense of taxpayers. What can we do to stop these rorts including the recent politician pay rise from the so-called independent remuneration tribunal? Many of us are angry … but why aren’t we the public doing anything and protesting for change about this? Anyone out there prepared to lead the charge? Count me in. T.B.

I would like to formally volunteer to be the members’ representative at the next health fund junket (sorry conference). I would even be prepared to travel economy. Maybe some of those smug fat cats would benefit from hearing the other side of the story. Members may even have some valuable input into improving services and cutting costs. Anyone heard of cyber conferencing? “Struggling to pay”

Gee, I love watching all these new age do-gooders squirm and writhe every time Trump makes a move. Uncouth, misogynistic bigot. Most powerful person in the world. And what a great job he’s doing. Go Trump.

Congrats to The Blues. (Got to let you win a couple to keep it interesting). During the SOO game at Suncorp I heard music being played during a lull in the play. Why do we need that? The game is the spectacle, not a 15-second sound bite of AC/DC or some other song that you don’t even rate. I think it spoils the onfield drama and intensity of SOO football when you’re at the game. Get rid of it next year please. Jayar, Palmy.

I’m sick and tired of these CST supporters, it is never going to happen – the Gold Coast does NOT have a natural harbour, so it is common sense that government spending should be for the Brisbane terminal. Andrew

Went to The Spit on Sunday. Parking was a premium. Had lunch in the cafe, boring and expensive. Why can’t we have ethnic food stalls? More parking? Maybe the odd trinket stall. This is our local area no tourists. Let’s make it buzzzz

Indonesians caned for having gay sex. Amazing how laws and

culture can be so opposite from neighbour country to neighbour.

It wasn’t long before they had to open a small 24 hour police station in the Fortitude Valley mall (Brisbane) – after some govt fool thought this was a good spot for a methadone clinic – despite livid opposition by locals. Ex Business owner, Fortitude Valley. There’s no ‘maternal’ instinct left in society. Women are resigned to the fact they must give birth to procreate. But it’s long since I met a woman willing to raise her own. They just hand them over to schools, daycare, nannies, grandparents, etc. All due to pressure from ‘sisterhood’ to be new age, career-driven, independent, blahblah. Maybe it is time men stepped in to correct this wrong. Because, let’s be honest, failure to ‘parent’ IS the root of all evil.

The Spit needs to have a market on a Sunday - Jenny

I see no one was killed during the running of the bulls, that’s a shame, just a mob of dumb animals chasing cattle. Woodleigh

I’m astounded that the female tennis players receive the same prize money as the men in the big tournaments when they only play best of three sets. I thought the female population wanted equal rights so they should play best of five sets. Neil, Currumbin

I think the council need to sort out the traffic to and from The Spit. This is our area, no tourists. Come on council get our spit traffic sorted.

The deli in Coles, Woolies and IGA needs to remove the plastic bags in the deli. It used to be wax paper, happy to go back to that, the meat keeps better. LS

Titans supporters you always complain and criticise about Titans losses so I find it amazing when there are not many Titan supporters at your home games! Theresa James when he says immigration is changing the culture of Europe (not for the better). I’m an ex Pom and England is nothing like it was when I grew up there. Australia be careful or Australia will be the same.

I loved the Elvis festival in Surfers on the weekend. Mind you, most of them were the late seventies Elvis with guts bigger than Graceland. John

Lois. This is Winter! This is when we would benefit from daylight saving! Maud

Excellent stuff Bulletin! All puzzles on same pull out page. Yaay, well done. - Shezz

So Marty, what are you telling us? You don’t need all of the pension because your super fund of 300k is enough hmmm? Vern S
