INSTA-BIKIE Benjamin “Notorious” Geppert has vowed to “never again” end up behind bars and plans to “get on with my life” after being released from the Southport Watchhouse.

Geppert was released from custody yesterday after pleading guilty to charges related to a prolonged public fight at a Gold Coast KFC and steroid possession.

The 26-year-old pleaded guilty in the Southport Magistrates Court to a charge of public nuisance, obstruct police, three counts of possessing dangerous drugs, possessing drug utensils and one Commonwealth offence of using a carriage service to harass.

The charges relate to a public fight at KFC Robina in May which was filmed and widely circulated in social media.

In a subsequent police raid on Geppert’s home he wrestled with police after they found his partner Allaina Vader naked.

Geppert’s barrister Adrian Braithwaite, instructed by Potts Lawyers, told the court his client became aggressive because officers arrested her while she was naked.

Police found steroids during the raid.

The court heard Geppert also sent a woman a video of him with a number of replica hand guns and said “I will find you and I will kill you dog”.

Geppert also threatened to take the woman for “boot rides”.

Police prosecutor Daniel

McShane said Geppert’s actions were at the “higher end” of the spectrum for using a carriage service to harass.

Mr Braithwaite submitted his client receive a six-month head sentence for the charges.

After reading Geppert’s references, Magistrate Andrew Sinclair said there were “two” Gepperts.

“One with tattoos on his face, replica guns, a four-page criminal history who consumes steroids and gets into fights in public – that person will spend the rest of his life in prison,” Mr Sinclair said.

Mr Sinclair said there was another side to Geppert, who he said had people in his life who could “see under the tattoos”.

“I’m prepared to give the person they see a chance.”

Geppert, a former Finks gang member, was given a sixmonth prison sentence, suspended for three years.

He was released from prison after counting 56 days already served.

He was also put on three months’ parole for the Commonwealth offence.

Outside court Ms Vader said her partner was prepared to change.

“(He’s) not what youse (sic) all think he’s like,” Vader said.

Geppert shared an embrace with Vader in front of news cameras after being released from custody.

He said he was “a free man” who had changed and planned to “get on with my life” as he walked from the watchhouse.

“I am a good person, I always have been,” Geppert said.

Asked whether he thought he would end up in custody again he said: “No, never again.”
