Blaze at drug den

INVESTIGATORS have blamed what they described as a hydroponic marijuana set-up as the cause of a fire in a rented shed at a Burleigh Heads industrial estate yesterday.

Emergency services rushed to a Rothcote Crt address after reports of smoke coming from one of the unit sheds.

QFES incident controller Adam Burnet said crews had to break windows to enter the unit.

“The cause of the blaze is still under investigation at this stage, but the room was being used to grow hydroponic marijuana,” he said.
