PUPPIES IN SAFE HANDS

-

IT took the passing of her 17-year-old dog Kai for Naomi Thompson to take it as a sign that she needed to care for foster puppies.

Her first was Sylvester, an America staffy.

Since then, she has fostered Lyra, a five-month-old staffy cross, Bella a staffy and currently Spud, a staffy cross cattle dog.

“Unfortunately, poor Spud has been diagnosed with terminal cancer so we have made the decision to be his palliative carers so he will stay with us and we’re thrilled to keep him as part of our family,” she said.

“Carers look after a foster dog as if it was one of their own until an adoptive family can be found. We are responsible for the daily care of the dogs, and taking them to adoption events always with the hope of finding new owners for them.’’
