McCulloch believes we people are consumers who can be manipulated spend money we don’t have so that businesses can make more money into the night.

The truth is Queensland is right not to have daylight saving because the hot summer sun goes down earlier and therefore we need less cooling, a saving for us!

I came up from Sydney in 2011 and soon realised Queensland is smart not to have daylight saving. The sun sets earlier and so the heat of the day diminishes earlier for us. I hope Queensland stands firm on this issue and doesn’t get bullied by greedy business to change it. RUSSELL SHERMAN, BROADBEACH WATERS
