Road respect out the door

FIVE-TIME Supercars champion Mark Skaife is expecting the two-way title fight to heat up at Ipswich this weekend, saying Shane van Gisbergen lacks respect for Scott McLaughlin.

Red Bull Holden’s van Gisbergen sits on the tail of championship leader McLaughlin after storming to a race win in the latest round in Townsville.

But Skaife said van Gisbergen would not show his fellow Kiwi the same level of respect as Jamie Whincup afforded Ford flyer McLaughlin during last year’s title race.
