COMPUTERS ARE A WHOLE NEW BALL GAME
ALL forms of football – rugby league, rugby union, soccer and Aussie rules – are popular.
They offer the opportunity for socialisation, developing teamwork and improving skills.
Most of all it gets boys and girls outside and away from playing games on a computer.
At my squad training the other day I overheard some older boys talking about their latest efforts at a computer game. Honestly, it was a different language for me.
A survey in the US found that young adults aged 12-17 years played games on consoles daily.
And regardless of whether there was a computer at home, their race or parents’ income, 99 per cent of boys and 94 per cent of girls “gamed”.
They added that by gaming the players were socialising, whether online or with friends.
